Suspended above the sea

I dashed passed him, feet glancing across the sun-scorched sand, sloping toward the sea. Knowing this would be the last summer day before classes started, I took the leap. Suspended for a moment in time above the briny water, hanging between my carefree college days and the mysterious adult life that awaited.
